FOREWORD From PRINCIPALS’ DESK

First off all I would like to thank Adv.Shri.Vijayshingh Yashwant Patil, President of the sanstha for giving me this opportunity to work as a I/C Principal of this college.

I, Shri Yuvraj D. Patil, being a I/C Principal of the college, welcome all types of communities to my senior college, Kai.Shri.Y.D.Patil Arts, Commerce &Science College Yavaluj Tal. Panhala, Dist Kolhapur.

The YDP College is a united endeavour of Shri Dnyaneshwar Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Waghave in Maharashtra for promoting rural life and development in conformity with Institute vision of human kind and the creation. The institute’s mission was to educate students of rural background to become innovators of the future. The college seeks to become a national centre of excellence in education and service to the people with the participation of students and faculty members.

Shri Dnyaneshwar Shikshan Mandal started college (2009) in keeping contemporary educational need to fulfill and to develop lives of rural students with moral, ethical and professional skill to meet with opportunities in higher education as well to make better society. Its noble mission is continued since its inception.

The student intake of this higher education institute is from rural, hilly area. They are mostly from farmers’ and poor family background having illiteracy. They are deep rooted with socio-culture, religion and regional taste and approach. To motivate those youth with view of academic and qualitative modern education, research and scientific temper is the prime motto of our institute and to meet the challenges of 21st Century.

We determine to improve all round development of blooming generations (students) through academic, social, cultural activities, earn and learn scheme, sports, and other activities. Our attempts are to promote students hidden abilities for the positive building of nation. Our students are supported spiritually, socially and culturally as well as academically during their time with us, which accomplishes our mission to be student-centered institution. Our students come from all walks, but they share a common expectation for educational experience. It’s heartening to note the excellent performance recorded by our passing out students; bagging several medals of distinction and certificates of merit. We are also happy for our dedicated staff for shaping the lives of our students. We also propose to preserve and maintain the historical identity [the true Indian culture] around the Kale region. Besides, to enhance the competitive spirit in examinations and sports, we try at level best.

As senior college is established in Octomber, 2009 and situated in Rural and Hilly area, I would like to motivate the students from this area for their all-round developments like academic, social, cultural, sports, ,Socioeconomic, environmental, debate, personality development etc. at state, national and international levels.

I would like to enhance the higher education among the students from poor family through “Earn and Learn Scheme”. For this purpose, I shall make a special provision for disseminating knowledge and promoting art and culture in the rural area. I shall take the necessary steps to control the conduct and discipline of the students of the college and to make arrangements for promoting their health and general welfare and preparing for various competitive examinations.

Finally, I shall try to develop the college at various levels such as, infrastructure, academic, social work, sports and cultural activities, computer literacy, library and competitive examinations for the college.
